]]>To get started our trip was organised by Rajasthan Tourism and we stayed at The Royal Retreat Resort & Spa were we spent 3 beautiful days in the most beautiful city of Rajasthan, Udaipur. The beautiful city is surrounded with lakes and lies on the south slope of the Aravalli Range, which makes the place one of the most romantic spots in India.
Best time to visit Udaipur
Udaipur can be really hot during the summers and extremely sweltering even to the most adventurous travellers. We would suggest you to visit Udaipur either in the winter months or during the spring season. The best time would be from September – April. During the summer season the lakes tend to dry up and you may be disappointed to see the low water levels.
How to reach Udaipur
We took a morning flight from Delhi to Udaipur which is approx 1 hour 20 minutes. We would suggest you to take an early morning flight so that you do not miss on a day due to travelling.
Packing for Udaipur
The city can be pleasantly warm during the afternoons that is from September to April. We would suggest you to pack lots of colourful and breezy outfits as the weather can be warm and humid. If you are visiting during the winter season don’t forget to pack a couple of warm jumpers as it can be very cold during the night. For footwear you can ideally pack comfortable flats or sneakers as the city walks can be a bit tiresome in uncomfortable shoes.
Is it safe for an all girls trip ?
We would give it a 4 star in terms of women safety. The city has a very low crime rate and is very much safe for girls. The people are friendly and humble.
Stay
Our stay was at The Royal Retreat Resort and Spa in Udaipur. It is a beautiful property located on the outskirts of the city. Everything in Udaipur is in close proximity thus staying at a resort was not be much of a problem for travelling to and fro, it was a 20 minutes drive from the resort to the city. Rooms are very spacious adorned with unique antiques and the restaurants are truly excellent. The extravagant Rajasthani Thali at their restaurant will leave you truly satiated.
Day 1
Udaipur has so many beautiful places to visit in and outside the city. If you plan it out smartly you can easily visit most of the gorgeous locations in 3-4 days. The first day we kept for the palaces. You can start your day visiting the city palace in the morning. We would suggest you to hire a guide inside the palace otherwise you will miss a lot on the history and essence of the palace. Tours generally last for an hour and a half. After the palace you can have a little stroll in the market around the palace and a nice lunch on one of the lake restaurants in the city, there are plenty of good options around. These are a few of them :
We also have a little surprise in store for you guys. After receiving such a good response from our audience we thought of returning the favour to you guys. We have teamed up with Royal Retreat Resort and Spa for a 2 Nights and 2 rooms complimentary stay for 4 people. It includes also includes

]]>What I really love about their Limited Edition collection is their concept which brings back so many fond memories of childhood in it’s own stylish ways. Popeye needs no introduction, I am sure most of us can also perfectly sing out the theme song with right music notes included (I know you are also humming it in your mind right now, just like me :P).
The collection includes a variety of pieces including different types of shirts, tees, shirt dresses, etc. which are super fun to wear and keep the trend going. We decided to partially twin by wearing the cool shirt dresses from the collection. These shirt dresses also tend to be perfect a inspiration for summer looks. They are super comfy along with the quirky element added with Popeye and Olive prints. Take a look at the pictures and let me know how you found the entire look xx

]]>The wedding bells are ringing, so we are once again at your rescue to unravel the outfit trouble. If you are planning to attend a wedding gala here are some perfect options for you by Sanya Gulati. These trust me are gonna enhance and amplify the fun by adding their subtle colours to your wardrobe. The ageless colours, the delicate and intricate embroidery, the indo-western patterns increased the flexibilty manifold which is the reason why we could also carry them soo comfortably. So ladies do not fear and dance to the beats in those 6 inch heals just like we did in these easy going stunning outfits.
The choice of colour complimented the wilderness around and we absolutely had a great time being all dressed up in these masterpieces…It was pure love!

]]>The post TRAVELLING TO HILLS IN THE HANDS OF LUXURY : ROKEBY MANOR appeared first on Curious Components.
]]>There are two types of people in the world; Number one – The beach person and number two – The hills person. I am definitely the later one. Being a hills person I obviously have my favourite hill station i.e Mussoorie. I have very fond memories of visiting Mussoorie specially during my summer vacations. My memories so strong still of the foggy, cold mornings along the hillside, the smell of the moist fungi on the pine trees and the sound of nature, birds (not cars out my window like I’m hearing right now). There’s always been an innate desire within me to connect with nature which as I think about it, is a direct correlation of my up bringing.
Talking about hills we do not really have great stay options unlike the beach sides with plenty of five star options to choose from. But Rokeby Manor an English-style Country Estatehotel nestled in the hills of Landour, 30 minutes from Mussoorie is a little paradise in the hands of luxury. Luckily I got to spend my birthday weekend with my family at this beautiful 18th century luxury hotel, which is also fondly know as the ‘Hamlet in the Hills’.
I stayed there for four days which was such a much needed short and sweet escape for the hustle bustle. They sent us a car to pick us up from the Dehradoon Airport. It is a half an hour drive from the airport. As drove higher the temperature got lower and my spirits got higher.
Staying at Rokeby Manor was such delight, they offered me a Rose Suite which was a beautiful suite decorated on the rose theme. Keeping with the old-world charm of Rokeby Manor, the rooms was decorated with rustic patchwork quilts and floral motifs. They have few yet very exclusive options when it comes to their rooms. Since it is a heritage hotel all the rooms are different from one another and are beautifully dedicated to different themes. The property is very Victorian in decor with fireplaces, rustic brick arches, stone walls and wooden flooring.
Our first day started with Lunch at Emily’s, their very own restaurant inside the property overlooking the Mussoorie ridge line. The weather was as perfect as it could be. Post Lunch we went for stroll to explore the property. Spent our evening chatting in the Tea Garden with hot milk tea, we were in heaven.
Day two came as quickly as day one went. We woke up to a perfect foggy day true gem of a day to come by. We went out of the property for a walk. Starting with the customary chukkar, an old bridle trail circling the three summits of Landour ridge via an old cemetery, churches and Lal Tibba, the highest point. We had coffee on our way back at the famous “Chaar Dukaan” spot which was 5 minutes from our property. Later as it was my birthday eve night, we went to the Stray Dog Ale House, an exclusive pub managed by the Rockeby itself. Being a Saturday it was a karaoke night ! yay ! We sang our throats out with amazing drinks which were to offer
It’s my Birthdayyyy ! 3rd September it is ! YAY ! I couldn’t contain my excitement anyways and to add on to it the warm staff at Rokeby had already planned a perfect day ahead for me. It started with small cake cutting ceremony with my family continued with a relaxing spa at their beautiful spa which was 5 minutes walk from the property. At Rokeby they have plenty of activities to offer and cycling was one of them. We went cycling along the beautiful natures trail while exploring the neighbourhood. The perfect day came to an end with a quite dinner at Emily’s .
It was our last day, still not ready to leave this little part of paradise. Starting my day with the hot tub Jacuzzi experience amidst the clouds on top of the hill. Post the jacuzzi session we went for breakfast at The Landour Bakehouse, which is managed by the Rokeby Property. The red velvet cake and the lemon tart top my list amongst the various mouth watering options available. Before checking out I spent some time at my favourite Wilson Chamber which is situated on the first floor of the property. I have thing for libraries and this vintage little chamber filled with books just took my heart away. On way back to the Dehradoon Airport we stopped by the Clock Tower Cafe for lunch, the quirky decor cafe is managed by the Rokeby property
